The stained-glass pieces within the Banquets Hall represent the 10 virtues that, in Jorge Ubico’s eyes, a good Government should have, bundled in pairs:

Progress-Peace; Work- Freedom; Justice – Integrity; Union-Order; Education- Resilience. 

The governor made sure that he left his mark in history with each detail found all over the National Palace of Culture. Although he left the presidency a couple of months after the inauguration of the building, this is still one of the most representative architectural wonders of his time.
