This space was originally used to function as a parking lot for the vehicles of President Jorge Ubico, but nowadays it is used as a gallery for temporary art expositions and folk groups performances. 

Why is it considered a passageway? If the gates from both sides are opened, you can cross from the fifth to the sixth street and it works as an extension of the alleyway in the sixth avenue A. 

Its walls are embellished by some awe-inducing stained glass pieces made by artist Julio Urruela, and they display Guatemalan literary works as their motif.
